Some children will need additional support with their learning during their time at Rattlesden School.
The special needs co-coordinator is Mrs Jeffery.
If a pupil needs additional support the teacher will talk to the parents or carer and will create a Pupil Profile and support plan. These will have specific targets which are designed to help the children to make progress.
The school also has experienced classroom assistants who provide reading and spelling programmes to address any learning needs.
Mrs Jeffery also provides weekly support for all children with Pupil Profiles by producing resources to use at home, mentoring in lessons and liaising with parents.
We are committed to helping parents source advice and support from local agencies and we work closely with all services to support the learning of our pupils.
In a recent survey, parents commented that "I am aware of the excellent support provided by the Teaching Assistants as required" and "I think the school's management of transition to High School is excellent building on the strong partnership between the schools".

Pupils with Disability
The school has facilities that increase and assist access to the school for pupils and visitors who are disabled. Ramps are located at the side of the hall and the lift is in the main entrance area. There is disabled access to the playground via the new classroom entrance.
