Safeguarding
Rattlesden CofE Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent, effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at school.
All members of staff, governors and volunteers hold a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate and are regularly trained in safeguarding and Child Protection matters. All new members of staff undertake rigorous pre-employment checks and our recruitment follows the Safer Recruitment guidelines to ensure all of our adults are safe to work with children.
At Rattlesden School Primary School, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our all our pupils. If you are concerned about a child, please contact:
Designated Safeguarding Lead: Gemma Cannon
Alternate Safeguarding Lead: Cath Jeffery
Alternate Safeguarding Lead: Jenny Winser
Safeguarding Governor: Tracey Evans
E-Safety Lead: Gemma Cannon/Cath Jeffery
Parents / carers should know that the law requires all school staff to pass on information which gives rise to a concern about a child’s welfare, including risk from neglect, physical, emotional or sexual abuse. The staff will seek, in general, to discuss any concerns with the parent/carer, and where possible inform them of the referral to Social Care. This will only be done where such discussion will not place the child at increased risk of significant harm. In accordance with local Information sharing protocols, we will ensure that information is shared securely and sensitively. Information will only be shared with other services where it is deemed necessary and proportionate to ensure that children and young people are safe and receive the right service.
