Admissions
Rattlesden Primary School is an academy and we follow Suffolk County Council admissions procedures.
Please call us on 01449 736335 to enquire about in-year vacancies or entry at the beginning of any year group other than Early Years Foundation Stage/Reception (entry to this year group is managed by the local authority).
Applications to the Early Years Foundation Stage/Reception Class
Rattlesden CofE Primary Academy offers children a full-time place in the Early Years Foundation Stage/Reception Class. All children are entitled to full-time place from September and we believe this enables children to make the most of the opportunities within school. A part-time place may be appropriate in special circumstances and this can be discussed with the class teacher. In Suffolk, children are expected to attend full-time from the beginning of the term in which they have their fifth birthday.
Applications for Reception class are made to Suffolk County Council and you will need to apply by the January before the September your child is due to start. Further information including FAQs can be found by clicking on this section.
During the summer term before admission, our new starters are invited to a series of sessions to give them the opportunity to become familiar with their new surroundings, and to also try out a school lunch. Our Reception teacher will also visit your child at home and will contact their nursery provision in order that the transition to primary school is as seamless and comprehensive as possible.
We warmly welcome visits from prospective parents and children to the school. Please call us on 01449 736335 to make an appointment.
