Online Safety
Online Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Rattlesden Cof E Primary Academy. We have security measures in place in school, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material.
Any e-Safety incidents are recorded and managed in accordance with the policies within school. Online safety is taught to all pupils, in a variety of ways, explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online.
We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work with parents to ensure the online safety message is consistent. It is important that parents speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.
Should you have any concerns regarding your child's use of the internet or mobile phone technology, please do not hesitate to contact either Mrs Ballam or Mrs Jeffery for advice.
It’s essential to be realistic - banning the internet or technology will not work and it often makes a child less likely to report a problem. Education around safe use is essential.

Our online safety cadets 2024-2025
Our online safety cadets planned and delivered a KS1 and KS2 assembly on the theme of 'change' for Safer Internet Day and they were amazing! They talked about how technology has changed and about what to do if something changes when you are online. With KS2, they talked about whether AI was a positive change and how it affects our lives. |
Autumn Term 2023
Our online safety cadets spoke with our classes to find out what worried them most online. they then planned a session to deliver. For Cedar and beech, they talked about what to do if something they see online worries them and in oak, they talked about online bullying. |

Our Summer Term Online Safety Cadet's theme was 'Healthy Screen Time' They spoke to all the classes and delivered an assembly to the whole school about good use of their screens and having a healthy balance between screen and non-screen time. |
