Friends Of Rattlesden School

Friends of Rattlesden School (FORS) is a group of parents who organise and co-ordinate fundraising events on behalf of Rattlesden Primary School.

We are:
  • Becky Catchpole (Felix, Fifi & Oscar’s mum)
  • Claire Wright (Harrison & Victor’s mum)
  • Jenny Winser (Gretchen’s mum)
  • Claire Leggett (Ollie & Annie’s mum)
  • Sam Masters (Harriette, Isabel & Enrique’s mum)
  • Emma Davies (Will’s mum)
  • Lucy Bingley (Josie & Elizabeth’s mum)
  • Serena Godbold (Joseph, George and Abigail's mum)
  • Amy Hall (Millie's mum)

What does FORS do?
We hold several events in the year: the Christmas Fayre, which last year raised £880; the Annual Duck Race/ Summer Fair, which raised over £1100 this year; and our Winter Quiz Night, which raised £440. Thank you so much for supporting these events.

Profits from school calendar sales go to FORS, and we also raise money when you support Bags2School, Yellow Moon shopping and easyfundraising, all of which have added another significant amount in the last year.

Where does the money go?
All the money raised at FORS events is allocated back to the school in a way which benefits every year group, offering a balance between education and providing treats and fun!

Recently the school has used FORS money for:
  • subsidising school trips (eg the pantomime)
  • end-of-year parties
  • visitors to the school (the author James Campbell, New Wolsey Theatre Company, local artists)
  • mathletics
  • hi-vis jackets
  • IT equipment and books
  • new netball posts and playground seating
  • new ‘Team Rattlesden’ sports kit

As always, we are very grateful for any help you can offer, whether it be helping at an event, sharing your ideas with us, supporting FORS through easyfundraising or Bags2SSchool or joining us at the next FORS meeting.

If you would like to become part of FORS, ask at the school office or speak to one of the FORS team at pick up. We are a friendly bunch and have a lot of fun, including the occasional night out at the Bells!
