E-SAFETY

E-Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Rattlesden Cof E Primary Academy. We have security measures in place in school, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material.
Any e-Safety incidents are recorded and managed in accordance with the policies within school. E-Safety is taught to all pupils, in a variety of ways, explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online.
We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work with parents to ensure the e-Safety message is consistent. It is important that parents speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.
Should you have any concerns regarding your child's use of the internet or mobile phone technology, please do not hesitate to contact either Mrs Ballam or Mrs Jeffery for advice.
It’s essential to be realistic - banning the internet or technology will not work and it often makes a child less likely to report a problem. Education around safe use is essential.

Useful Information for Parents
Vodafone have produced a Digital Parenting Magazine which informs parents about the various technologies children are accessing today. There is information on Facebook settings, Xbox360 settings, jargon busting and many more 'How to Guides'. Well worth a read!

Download these 'top tips' on children's screen time and 'guide to managing screen time' and watch this short clip to look out for healthy screen time habits.  Being on line is both great fun, a good way to communicate with friends and family and informative but it is important that the amount of screen time and what your child uses it for, is balanced.  Click here to find out about healthy, balanced screen time.
